Participation
Being in the skins game is optional. In order to opt-in, you must pay for the 1st half by week 2 and for the second half by week 10.
Players participating in the skins game are eligible for both Net & Gross Skins. In order to earn a skin, you must be the only participating player with the lowest Net or Gross score for the hole.
Team Partners CANNOT Cancel Each Other’s Skin
If two teammates have the lowest Net and/or Gross score for a hole, they both are eligible for the skins they earned and cannot cancel one another. For example, if both Jack & Arnie (on the same team) birdie hole #2 and no other player birdies that hole, then they BOTH would earn a Gross Skin.
Eagles
Eagles automatically earn TWO Gross Skins and cannot be cancelled even if another player eagles that same hole. However, an eagle’s Net Skin can be cancelled by another player’s net score on the hole.
Skins Pay
Skins are paid out based on total money collected for the half and total qualified skins earned for the week. If there are are 38 players participating at $30/half, then there is $114 available per week for the skins game (38 players x $30 / 10 weeks = $114/week). Skins are paid out to the nearest whole dollar.
Example: If in week 4 there are 3 Gross Skins earned and 2 Net Skins earned and there is $114 available per week, then each skin is worth $22.80. If a player earned 1 of those skins, they would get paid $22. If they earned 2 skins, they would get paid $45 ($22.80 + $22.80 = $45.60).
